Careers Introduction

Careers Education at Meadowfield School

At Meadowfield School, we are committed to preparing our students for life beyond school by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions about their future. Our careers programme supports students in exploring a wide range of education, training, and employment pathways, tailored to their individual needs and aspirations.

Our Vision

We aim to inspire every student to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. Careers education at Meadowfield is inclusive, aspirational, and designed to support students in becoming as independent as possible.

Structured Careers Programme

Our careers education is delivered across all key stages and pathways.

It is aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks and the Statutory Careers Guidance (January 2023). We also ensure compliance with the Skills and Post-16 Education Act 2022, including the requirement for six provider encounters across Years 8 to 13.

Personal Guidance

All students receive individual careers guidance meetings at key transition points:

Year 9

Year 11

Year 13

These sessions are delivered by qualified careers advisers and help students and families make informed choices about future pathways.

Engaging with Employers and Providers

We offer:

Workplace experiences

Encounters with employers and employees

Visits and talks from further and higher education providers

Enterprise activities and careers events

These opportunities help students understand the world of work and the routes available to them.

Parental Involvement

We actively involve parents and carers in the careers journey through:

Information sessions

Newsletters

Access to guidance resources

Opportunities to attend careers events

Celebrating Success

We regularly showcase student achievements in careers-related activities, helping to raise aspirations and inspire others.
