Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh Award has been run successfully in the 6th Form at Meadowfield School for over five years. The components of the award support our students to be better equipped to make a successful transition to the workforce, college or other structured community settings.

We offer Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. The award is achieved by completing a personal programme of activities broken down into sections.

You achieve an Award by completing a personal programme of activities in four (five if going for Gold) sections:

Personal Programme Information

Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community.
Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities.
Skills: developing practical and social skills and personal interests.
Expedition: planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad.
Residential (Gold only): which involves working and staying away from home doing a shared activity.
