In term 2, the theme is ‘Travel and Transport’. Wrens Class will take an imaginary journey across country to Europe and other parts of the world. There, they will discover different types of transport used (old and new), visit a tourist attraction and take a ride on ‘The Polar Express’.
Duck in the Truck by Jez Alborough is a story about a duck who gets stuck in a truck. How will he get out? Wrens Class will find out through the reading of the story brought to life with sensory props in English. The focus is number, place value, addition and subtraction in maths. Exploratory science, arts, crafts and food technology fun will be linked to the theme of travel and transport. All of which will in groups and on a 1:1 basis. A role play area and home corner is also set up to support and build communication and language throughout the school day.
Outdoor learning will include tuff trays that replicate ‘Duck in the Truck,’ travel and transport themed, messy play and water activities.
PE will be on a Tuesday. Please send your child’s PE kit into school on a Monday so we can practice our independent dressing skills in school.
Wishing you all a terrific term two.
