Buttercups

Hello and Welcome to Buttercups!

We are a class of Year 1 pupils and there are 11 of us.

Our teacher is Charlotte.

Rebecca, Theresa and Ashley help us with our learning.

Georgina helps us at lunchtime.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and Development Matters documents which cover seven areas of learning which are as follows:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
  • Communication and Language (CL)
  • Physical Development (PD)
  • Literacy (L)
  • Mathematics (M)
  • Understanding the World (UW)
  • Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)

In Buttercups, we learn through a combination of Planned play and Teacher directed activities. We also access outside learning environment constantly. We are an energetic and determined class who love exploring in sensory media. So we are sorry if we come home messy!

In order for all the children to reach their full potential we continue to use a multi-sensory approach to teaching and learning.

In Buttercups we like to encourage independence from all the children, so we do apologise if clothing is inside out or back to front.

Buttercups are praised and rewarded with tokens throughout out the day, and Buttercup of the Day is given to the child that has the most amount of tokens by the end of the day!

Reminders:

  • Please have PE kits for a Friday.
  • Learning Journals to be sent to school every day so we can update target progress in there
  • Fridays are dress down!
  • Fridays we will be sending home Buttercup of the Week certificates- this is awarded to the child who has done something exceptional in that week.
