Fawns

Welcome to Fawns Class, part of the Early Years department at Meadowfield School.

Our class Teacher is Liz

Teaching assistants: Emma and Ellie
Lunch assistant: Georgina

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and Development Matters documents which cover seven areas of learning which are as follows:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
  • Communication and Language (CL)
  • Physical Development (PD)
  • Literacy (L)
  • Mathematics (M)
  • Understanding the World (UW)

In Fawns class, we learn through a combination of Planned play and Teacher directed activities, with constant use of our outside area. We are an energetic and determined class who love exploring in sensory media.

During Term 1, we will be focusing on the topic 'All about me” and we will be looking at the story “Head to Toes” by Eric Carle and “The Emotions Book – a story about big feelings” by Liz Fletcher.

In order for all the children to reach their full potential we continue to use a multi-sensory approach to teaching and learning.

Reminders:

  • Please have PE kits for a FRIDAY.
  • Contact books will be sent home daily.
  • As the weather is getting wetter and cooler, please can you provide your child with a waterproof coat and wellies.
