Hawking

Hello and welcome to Hawking!

We are a class of Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 pupils and there are 12 of us.

Our teacher is Isolde, but many of us call her Izzy. Nil and Tanya help us with our learning.

We are an Enquire Pathway Curriculum class and we have lessons in English, Maths, Science, Life Skills and PHSE.

In English we are learning about fiction, which includes fairy tales, legends and myths. In Maths this term we are focussing on multiplication arrays followed by times tables for number, angles and properties of 3-D shapes in geometry and measuring weight and liquids in measurement. In science we are finding out about forces and animal life on the planet, including habitats and life cycles. We will be looking more closely at some unfamiliar animals that live in Australia. After the school break, we will look more closely at plants and their life cycles.

• PE is on Thursdays.

Hawking pupils can earn tokens for good work and good listening as well as kindness, honesty, teamwork and being helpful and respectful. The pupil with the most tokens at the end of the week is Star of the Week.

All our pupils are on a tracker with the traffic light system as well. When they get all greens, they earn a marble for our special class jar. When the jar is full, the class can choose a special activity to do on a Friday from a list of acceptable activities.
