Daisies

Welcome to Daisies Class

We have 7 wonderful, happy pupils, who really enjoy learning new things and being extremely creative through all of their work. Our age range for this class is from Year 3 to Year 6.

Our Class Team is:

Class Teacher: Mrs Kambanga
Teaching Assistants: Donna, Danuska & Coral
Midday Meals Assistant: Rachel

In our class, we follow a thematic approach to the National Curriculum. As we will be following an Explore curriculum that is tailored to suit the needs of each individual in Daisies. Each day we also have a series of sensory circuit activities to help our pupils integrate and engage in their learning either in group sessions or on 1:1 learning activities. We have access to the key stage 2 playground and have a lovely outside space with lots of resources to help meet their sensory needs any time of the day. All pupils use individual timetables so that they understand their routine and expectations for the day. All children are rewarded for all their efforts through some choosing time as well as certificates, stickers and verbal praise.

We provide pupils with a purposeful, fun and engaging learning environment where we encourage pupils to develop their independence and collaborative skills. Daisies’ class uses total communication where we combine speech, symbols and signing.

Please read our Home Learning for more information on what we are learning and ways to support us.

Things to remember:

Our learning passport will be send home after every fortnight, this allows everyone to see the progress that our Daisies’ will be making.
  • PE lessons and Music lessons are on a Wednesday. This is taking place outside in the playground on good weather days, inside the school hall/Daisies’ class on other days. (Please let the children wear there PE kits to school or send these in a named shoe string bag for us to keep in school.
  • Please supply a waterproof coat for them to wear to keep them dry from the rain. Also when the weather starts to change please can you send a warm waterproof coat and wellies to keep the children warm and dry as much as possible.
  • Soft play is on Monday afternoon.
  • This term Daisies are privileged to have access to the hydro pool.
  • Friday’s will continue to be non-uniform days and we are finishing early, that is 1:30pm.
